Our vacation started as any normal vacation would. Brother and sister in law visiting from Arizona the week before we left. One of their kids get sick throw-up, next thing you know Sophia throwing up and pretty soon our entire house was infected except Andrew and I. I prepared and packed diligently on Thursday so I would only have a few things to do on Friday and we could leave for camping pretty early. The fridge was stuffed with food for a week of camping, you know how much food that requires, right?! On Friday morning, I was awoke by Andrew at five. "Mom, come here" over and over.. I finally listened and got up and followed him into the kitchen. "Mom, the holy ghost told me to eat a pickle so I don't get sick" my response as any reasonable mother at five in the morning would say, "the holy ghost did not tell you to eat a pickle at five in the morning Andrew, go back to bed" now the reason I was not willing to get him a pickle is because they were buried behind my weeks worth of camping food. I made him a piece of toast assuming that would take the place of the pickle and went back to bed. Five minutes later "Mom, I said a prayer to Heavenly Father and he told me to eat the pickle so I don't get sick!" I knew at this point I was not going to win, so I got up, emptied my fridge and got him the pickle, the holy ghost told him to eat. We arrived at camp and the next day I got so sick and guess what Andrew was the only person exposed to that awful pukie bug that did not get sick. Two days later he was involved in an accident that almost took his life and he had the fight of a lifetime, he couldn't have afforded to be sick. Was it coincidence he needed to eat a pickle at five in the morning? Nope, I wouldn't bet my life on it!

This was so cool how this worked out, Andrew is so close to the spirit it is amazing! Secondly, it wasn't our fault we all got sick!
That is a neat story, thanks for sharing! (It belongs in the Friend magazine!) This summer was definitely one you'll remember forever, it's great to record the details now while they're fresh.
Sorry to hear about your foot!
